Castles and Villages
From the B&B Il Giardino di Laura you can easily visit some of the most beautiful Castles of Ducato di Parma e Piacenza: the Agazzano Castle (15km), the Rivalta Castle (20km) and the Rocca d’Olgisio (10km), set in the rock to protect Val Tidone.
The valley is also rich in medieval villages and forts to be discovered. We recommend you visit the characteristic medieval villages of Grazzano Visconti (25km) and Zavattarello (25km).
Wine and Food
The province of Piacenza is a land rich in gastronomic specialties, DOC wines, cured meats and DOP cheeses. Piacenza is the only European province that can boast three DOP brands for its cured meat: pancetta, coppa and salame.
Our hills offer the possibility of visits to the cellars of Val Tidone, Val Tidone and Val Luretta, where you can taste native wines like Gutturnio, Barbera, Ortrugo and Malvasia.
Sport & Nature
The B&B Il Giardino di Laura is the ideal location for those who love outdoor activities and be in contact with nature. Among the green of the Val Tidone, it is the perfect starting point for cycling tours, motorbike tours and walks through characteristic paths and vineyards.
We point out some interesting and characteristic itineraries: the Sentiero del Tidone, to walk on foot, by bike or on horseback along the Tidone stream, from the confluence of the Po to the source, passing through the Diga del Molato; the Alpine Gardens of Praticchia and the itineraries of the Via Postumia.
Piacenza & Province
The B&B Il Giardino di Laura is only 20 km from Piacenza, a city founded by the Romans, rich in history and culture.
The heart of the city is the famous Piazza Cavalli, located at the center of the main medieval road axes surmounted by Palazzo Gotico, symbol of secular city power. From here you can visit different places of cultural and artistic interest including museums, churches, art galleries, theaters and monuments.
